Bissell BarkBath – Giveaway with Canadian Tire

Bissell BarkBath – Giveaway with Canadian Tire

Splish splash it’s time to give the dog a bath.

Rub a dub now let’s get the dog in the tub!

Dog bath day, sending dogs everywhere running and hiding behind and under couches!

Dog bath day, the day dog parents dread and wish they could avoid!

The preparations to bathe my dog and the clean up afterwards want to send ME running and hiding behind the couch!

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Canadian Tire. I only share information on products that I would use for my own pets, for myself, or products that I believe my readers would find of interest. All opinions are mine and do not necessarily reflect those of Canadian Tire or Bissell BarkBath.

Dog bath day happens on a regular basis in my house. I don’t know who dreads it more, me or my dog Edie? No matter how cleaver I try to be, Edie knows a bath is coming. I spell out the word B.A.T.H but guess what, my dog can now spell!

Dog bath day has since been renamed Spa Day, because everyone loves a Spa Day right? Nope! No matter what you call it my dog is not having it, and what’s more, she now understands the meaning of Spa Day.

I can only imagine what goes through my dog’s mind on bath day, but I can certainly tell you what goes through my mind. The set up and preparation of bathing my dog, the dreaded cleanup afterwards, scrubbing out the bathtub, wiping down the walls, soaking up puddles off the floor, and of course, trying to anticipate and avoid the dreaded wet dog shake!

What else goes through my mind when I bathe my dog?

“THERE HAS TO BE A BETTER AND EASIER WAY TO BATHE MY DOG!”

Well dog parents unite!

The BarkBath available at Canadian Tire stores has heard the dog parent’s call for:

My thoughts and views of the Bissell BarkBath

I took my time to slowly and carefully introduce my dog Edie to the Bissell BarkBath. I wanted this new way of bathing my dog to be a positive experience. I let Edie become comfortable with the BarkBath, the noises it made, the feel of the wand that sprayed out the water shampoo mixture, and sucked back the dirty water off of her. Fortunately for me, Edie is not one to be frightened around loud noises such as a vacuum so this made it easier for both of us.

The hose attachment of the BarkBath is a good length, making it easy to place the system at a further distance so the noise would not distract or bother my dog. Included with the BarkBath is a Microfibre mat that I placed the BarkBath on, this helped muffle the noise. The BarkBath not only used less water, but it sucked back the water off my dog, making Edie less “soaked” and resulting in her drying faster.

The Bissell BarkBath available at Canadian Tire, has answered my call to make bathing my dog easier, less challenging, less of a chore, and now no one is hiding behind the couch on Spa Day!

Don’t miss out on your chance to win a Bissell BarkBath from Canadian Tire!

  1. Our pug, Dexter, generally enjoys his bath but he is heavy and it is hard to lift him in and out. He also shedd constantly which is why this system would be an awesome addition to our home!

  3. This would definitely make bathtub easier for me and my furbaby. As the article says, it keeps things clean and mess free. It also seems more comfortable for dogs than being put in a tub of water.

  4. My parents are retired now & it’s a struggle to give their dog a bath as they don’t have a detachable shower head. It can be quite a challenge to keep the dog still & can be a back breaking task. This Bissell system would really make bathing the dog easy & painless!

  30. Wow! This is such a good idea! Our Layla hates getting baths and we hate giving them. One of our bathrooms only has a shower and she refuses to stay in it while we try to wash her. The other bathroom has a tub but it has glass doors instaed of a shower curtain, making it very uncomfortable to lean over trying to bathe her. We basically have to get in the bath with her to get it done. This would make the whole process so much more pleasant for everyone!

  37. This looks like a great product! Does it suck away the dried poop and burs from when the dog rolls in it? I sometimes have to use a scrub brush. This would also be very helpful after I shave my dogs to suck up all the tiny pieces of fur.

    • Interesting question about the dried poop and burs. I’ve not had to remove either – thank goodness! But if I do, I will be sure to let you know the results!

  43. This is amazing. This would definitely be a lifesaver. No more water all over the bathroom, no more wet half washed animals dragging soap and water and towels when they escape the bath. No more struggling to go to the groomers and paying a paw and a leg for services I could do at home. So this would def save me time, money, and best of all, my mind and my blood pressure oh and no cleaning up afterwards!!! Thanks for the chance! Paws crossed!

  44. My dog is afraid once I put the water on. He will whine the whole time I’m washing him and goes to the very end of the tub so I can’t reach him with the hose. Always a struggle to give him a bath! My other one runs and hides once I say bath time. This would help them both! And me!

  49. Just WOW!!! This is SO COOL! I had no idea such thing existed but this would make life for my Lyla SO much easier! She has many issues with her legs from one being broken and incorrectly set when she was just a pup to arthritis. She has such a hard time standing for a long period of time in one place, walking etc. So when we bathe her she has a really hard time even though she is such a good pup and tries her best. This would make it so much better for her life! Thanks for making us aware of the Bissel Barkbath!
