I’m a firm believer in giving back.
But what exactly does “giving back,” mean?
It can and does mean something different to everyone, but I would like to think the end result means making life better for others.
In my case, I give back by sharing stories of pets that for whatever reason are unable to find a forever home. If I can do something as simple as blogging and sharing their story on my social media outlets, with the end result being that a dog or cat finds their forever home, then I feel no greater pleasure. Everyone wins; the pet finds a loving forever home where they are safe and cared for; the humans win by receiving companionship and the unconditional love of a pet.
As a pet parent to one dog and two cats, I understand the importance of the human animal bond, and as you can see for yourself, the bond extends to the pets as well.

What does PetSmart’s Buy a Bag, Give a Meal™ mean to dogs and cats in need and those that love them?
Beginning March 1st and through to December 31, 2017, for each and every bag of dog or cat food purchased from PetSmart online, or any of PetSmart’s 1,500 – plus stores across the U.S, Canada and Puerto Rico, a meal will be donated to feed a pet in need at pet shelters, animal welfare organizations and food banks!

I agree. I like that it is not restricted to any particular brand. You can purchase any brand of dog or cat food bag you pet eats and PetSmart will contribute.

The animal welfare group I volunteer with runs a pet food bank. Our local Petco and PetSmart donate food to them on a monthly basis. I don’t if our group knows about this promo, but I have now emailed them about it. Kudos to pet stores that go the extra mile!

This is a great idea and I truly believe in giving back that is why I buy everything for Layla at whatever stores do give back, I shop at a pet store here in San Francisco that has cats up for adoption from Animal control, plus if you buy there and your pet does not like the food or treats they give you credit for the open bags, and donate all to the rescues
