Top Paw Mesh Harness

My search to find a harness that fits comfortably and properly.

I’m a pug with a closet full of harnesses.  It’s not that I’m a stylish pug, although I do like to look my best 🙂  but it’s because it has taken me some time to find a harness that fits me properly and comfortably.

As a pup I wore a collar, but it was more of a fashion statement. I do not like the feel of a collar around my neck and being a pug, a short snouted dog, a collar is not necessarily the best thing for my breathing.

Finding a harness that fit me, was comfortable and one that didn’t chaff under my front legs was a challenge.  Many times I had to buy larger sizes just so it would fit my barrel like chest, causing the rest of the harness not to fit properly.

I’ve had a “strap like” harness but that rubbed under my front “paw pits” making them tender and rubbing my hair off.  Then there was the harness that, although it looked nice, the hook for the leash was elasticized and did not give much control to the person that was walking me – kind of like a bungee cord of sorts.

We came across a harness at PetSmart, the Top Paw Mesh Dog Harness. It may not be flashy or have cute prints on it, it doesn’t come in many colours, nor does it have sparkly attachments, but I think it’s classy looking, a harness for all occasions.

The Top Paw Mesh harness is padded mesh; making it breathable and easily washable after those muddy springtime walks.  Sizes range from x-small to large, the colour is solid black with the option of different colour trims, blue, green, orchid and my favourite, neon pink!

The Top Paw Mesh harness is the first harness that has not chaffed or rubbed me under my front paws.  The straps are durable, easily adjustable and not too thin as to dig into the skin. The snap buckle is strong, holding up to be opened and closed many times and the D-ring on top where the leash is attached is heavy duty.

This harness gets 4 paws up from Miss Edie the Pug!
